Sometimes you do know that people are not trying to be a pain and just don’t know what to say. A woman I was talking with today asked me if my current pregnancy would be my first biological child and I wanted to hug her! I was elated that someone in my life knew the right words to use. Yea for proper terminology!

For me, it’s about how they ask. One mom from our MOMS Club was clearly interested in adoption as a concept, and haltingly asked the question, “Did you try to … have… ch.. a baby .. of … your own baby?” She was groping for the right words. I was able to nicely let her in on the terminology.
But I agree that some people are just plain rude about it!

LOL my step-mom asked the “baaaaby” question the other day when I informed her that we were planning on adopting a foster child. at this time,I don’t want a baby, and thats what I told her.
