All toddlers love pushing buttons and moving the mice on the computer, and since I often write with K in my lap, it’s inevitable that sometimes she’ll push a button at all the wrong times and cause me to loose my work or reformat my hard drive.
At least she’s never cost me $27,000!
The mom of a three year old boy in England was on the hook for a car her son bought on eBay – just by pushing the pretty BID NOW button on the screen.
Yikes!
The mom was a bit upset when she’d learned from an email that she’d bought a rare Nissan.
The parents of the boy, Jack Neal, from Sleaford, Lincolnshire, eastern England, were dumbstruck when the website sent them a message of congratulations for buying the Barbie pink Nissan Figaro, a collector's item.
"So we checked and saw it was a Barbie pink car which we'd bought for £8999 [$22,750]. We flew into a panic."

The boy has good taste, and the mom admits she left her password and eBay page up on the screen – so the boy just pushed and clicked away until he bought the car.
Apparently according to
one source, he even knew what he was doing!
The following morning, Jack told his parents: "I've bought a car."
But, as typical with toddlers and the news media -
contradicting stories abound:
Jack denied all culpability.
Asked if he had made the purchase, he simply squirmed and muttered, "No..."
Luckily the seller understood children and didn’t hold the parents responsible for actually purchasing the car, and re-listed it on eBay.
I love eBay and buy and sell all the time, but I guess I’ll have to be extra careful as K learns her way around computers.
Just one more thing to worry about as parents. Now I’m going to have to be close my open web pages!
