Let me just say simply that I have at least 4 children adopted from foster care that I would not feel safe in a car with. The oldest will be 15 in April and could have already taken Phase I in our state. I don't think she or her 3 younger sibs will be taking drivers ed. while living with me. I want them to be independant and we don't live in a town where they could walk or take a bus easily so that's a drawback, BUT I don't feel the public would be safe with any of them behind the wheel. They have no common sense, no cause and effect thinking and you can't tell them anything. I'm sure not going to ride with them. Also, I know how ridiculously high my rates went up when my older kids took drivers ed and got their permits and they didn't have any problems, I shudder to think about losing my insurance completely because of the accidents/tickets these kids would get. I think it's a nice idea, but who is going to be held responsible for the high insurance rates and or injuries? Hmmmm…where do I begin?
