It has been a wild and crazy weekend. Just when I think that having family around, (my Mom) will allow me to spend more time to myself writing, thinking, walking, the opposite happens and we are busier than ever!
When Hubby goes off to work in a normal week, K and I have a routine. I get up early and she sleeps for a while. After she wakes up, she’ll eat her cereal (or Marmite sandwich), and watch TV for a while so I can write. I can usually get enough writing done for the morning blog post before the day must progress to something fun.
With family here, so matter how much I try to get into a new routine, it just doesn’t work out that way. To start with, we are over scheduled with things to do – shopping, planning, and a big party we had yesterday afternoon to celebrate – life.
The last party we had was adoption day January 2005. Some of the friends that came then are the same ones that came yesterday. Writing buddies, couples we don't see very often, Hubbys’ bicycling buddies, or from his work, girlfriends I talk to on the phone but don't visit with very much.

Most hadn’t been to our home since that last party almost two years ago.
A lot has changed since then.
We’ve remodeled the house.
I’m writing a lot more, painting a lot less. (none in fact).
And K is almost three years old.
We invited several other friends who have young children, but for one reason or another K turned out to be the only child at the party and she commandeered it.
One by one she’d take an adult by the hand to show them her room, and proceed to dance with them. If they tried to get back to the party she ‘fake cried’.
I had to go rescue more than one adult.
No one seemed to mind too much though, and everyone was amazed that K has grown from baby to young girl in this short time.
After everyone left, K was spun up and wired like a top and it still took a few hours for her to calm.
Now, its morning, she’s sleeping later than usual, Mum is also still asleep, and I get to write this quick post.
The rest of the day is scheduled tight! But I hope to be back on twice daily blogging schedule soon.
Tonight: My first CORE training for the new agency. Stay tuned!
