So this morning Ricky wakes up in a bad mood - as always.. But I wake up in a good mood (and as the day goes on his mood get better and mine gets worse, but I digress..)
He wanted one of those tube yogurt things that I never buy, but had in the house because it is one of the few things he’ll actually eat. So I passed him one and he screamed
OPEN IT OPEN IT... and then threw it at me.
I was still in a good mood, - after all it was only seven in the morning, and at that point not at all detered by his anger and frustration at life, so I said
“Sure - Follow me.”
I picked up K (our two year old daughter), and went out to the driveway. I asked Ricky to put the yogurt down
right here, and pointed.
Continuing, using great care and emphasis, I said,
Exactly right there, just perfectly, yep thats it. Ok great. I surveyed the scene and Ricky watched - amazed.
Ok, Ricky, go stand over there where I can see you.
Ricky went, watching me carefully, his mood changing, was that possibly a glimpse of a smile under his frown?

Then I put K in the car seat and backed up over the yogurt.
Its open! I exclaimed!
Boy do I have fun parenting sometimes.
