It is fun laying around on the beach having a vacation. I’m also spending a bit of time walking on the beach as well. Last night, I even had a glass of wine on the beach.

Life is pretty easy to live this way for a couple of weeks. Mostly I’m enjoying having family around and having other adults to watch K. Hubby and I have been out on the town a couple times with K safely at grandparents. It has been fun!

Right now, my parents are again watching K. Hubby is at the bar having a beer, and I get to play by myself for a bit.

I like to do that. – Play by myself, shop, walk, eat out sometimes and people watch, but only for short spells.

Usually, at home, I don’t have family nearby and if I have to leave K with someone, it is because I have an appointment I just can’t take her on. I don’t get time by myself to do with as I wish. I get time by myself to do important errands. Like go to the dentist and have a tooth pulled. That doesn't count as time by myself does it?

Usually, I miss K if I’m gone to long. I start to wonder, how is she doing? Or I’ll think, I bet she would like this or that. Oh look K, and then I’ll realize, she isn’t with me, she’s at the babysitters. So I don’t leave her much.

My parents, her grandparents LOVE the fact that we are on vacation and they get to spend fun time with K. They’ve taken her in the water, built sandcastles, explored the dunes. There are lots of children on this beach and they all share sand toys and throw balls. It is a great family vacation.

When I get home I still have a half done kitchen waiting for me. There will be bills to pay, phone calls to return. K and I will have our daily routine and life will be back to normal. I’ll be home in a few days. Back to the routine. And that is good too. I like my life.

But for this minute, I’m enjoying the French shopping, walking and eating a crème dessert. And of course, people watching.
