Today marks the third anniversary of K’s arrival into our home. No longer can I imagine life without our daughter. The days of power lunches, bar hopping, late night working are over – and I am so very grateful.
There is a three year old in my home that brings an extra dimension of joy and laughter every day.
I love to remind Hubby that even the bad days are really really good. I laugh more each day now that I used to in a week – or even a month. Laughing is easy when you’ve got a child who cuts her hair, climbs into the fridge, waters the fake Christmas greenery.
This coming year we hope to add another young one to our family. Next week is our home study, (weather, and sickness allowing) and then we start the process of accepting or rejecting phone calls to take children – based upon our gut feeling.
Due to confidentiality issues, I won’t be blogging too many details about what children might come into our home. Still, by changing dates, and ages and other details a bit I can still write about our day to day life and fost-adopt journey.

This time last year I was getting ready to post my first blogs. I had just met Nancy (our editor) on-line and started to learn about a few adoption issues.
This time next year, our lives will look different, and yet so much the same. I am always amazed how so much changes and stays constant at the same time.
I am curious about children that will come this year and who might stay as part of our forever family.
I suppose that every family wonders about the children – boy or girl? What will they look like? What interests will they have? Will they sleep through the night.
It makes me a bit nervous and excited at the same time.
I’m ready for the New Year.
I hope you are too.
Happy New Year everyone!
