K is three today.
My baby is growing up.
This morning, as she was waking I sang,
Happy Birthday!
She mused, "It’s my birthday?"
"I am three! I am three!"
All day she’s been proudly exclaiming "I am three" and "I am a princess" and "It’s my birthday."
She’s also showing her new found independence as can be seen in the photo.
I left the room for a minute and when I came back she’d gotten a stool, opened the fridge, and climbed up.
Geez.
Today we are going to see the movie Happy Feet.
She’s never been to the movies before and I was dismayed to discover there aren’t any G rated movies out.
What happened to them?
I promised K a movie on her birthday, and there just aren’t any G choices, so PG Happy Feet it is.
I’ve talked to lots of people, and everyone says Happy Feet has some scary bits, but overall should be ok for K. I will cover her eyes or take her out if it is too much.
I’ll do a review after we see it.
Tomorrow Santa goes to Hubby’s work, then Sunday the big birthday party!
We've got plans for tonight and tomorrow night. Isn't it funny how everything comes at once?
Whew what a weekend.
I'll check in again on Monday.
I’m so excited though.....
My baby is three!
Happy Birthday dear one.
You are growing so fast.
More on the Happy Feet Movie:
Here is what some of the critics are saying in their Happy Feet reviews:
Tuneful and soulful in equal measure, this animated all-penguin musical is terrific fun.
Kirk Honeycutt - Hollywood Reporter
There's nothing comfortable about Happy Feet. It's brave and heartfelt, a surprising cinematic accomplishment.
Joshua Tyler - CinemaBlend.com
Easily the best animated film of the year.
Christy Lemire - Associated Press
Music is fantabulous, acting solid, animation dynamic -- from cute to powerful in 0.5 seconds. This is what going to the movies is all about -- and I don't even have kids!
Ross Anthony - Hollywood Report Card
