Well, we finally got it done.http://fost-adopt.adoptionblogs.com

Mother in Law, (MIL) K’s – Grandma is moved. We spent all day yesterday moving a lifetime of furniture, knickknacks and personal items into a small assisted living bedroom and sitting area. The space is nice, but it will be an adjustment for her. She left her spacious three bedroom home so that she could come live closer to us and be part of our family. I can’t imagine the emotions you must go through when you are forced to throw away photos, records, even old tax returns. MIL wasn’t a hoarder, but she did like to keep things….

Yesterday K got to help her move. She helped carry small pillows, shoes, a book up from the moving van. Of course she doesn’t understand what is happening, but she is keeps saying, “ This is grandma’s new house!” – I expect we’ll be visiting often, and K will run around the facility getting lots of attention from the ‘older folks’.

On the other side of the family spectrum, we had lunch with K’s birthmom today. http://fost-adopt.adoptionblogs.com We ate pizza in the local place that has a nice play area in the back. Children of all ages climb and play together with various provided toys.

I’m sitting, eating pizza with bmom, and her new baby. K is playing and laughing and takes a ‘monkey’ and puts him to bed. All is fine and well and we are having a fun time when I suddenly K is running through the restaurant.

Naked!

Since it was bedtime for monkey, she needed a blanket, and the only thing close by for her to use for a blanket, was her pants! She ran over to me, pleased as punch that she’d taken off her clothes and been resourceful enough to find a ‘blanket’. She's laughing, pointing, shouting in fact, that her pants were now a blanket.

No matter, I got her on the chair and her pants back on pretty quick, but not before I overheard a father explaining to his young son that, nooooo, this was not acceptable behavior.

Opps.
