I have the neatest dog. Sorry Nancy. She doesn't do tricks, except for shake and smile, and isn't a purebred or anything special.

She is a Chow Chow and German Shepherd mix. We got her from the pound when she was 8 weeks old. She only weighed about 8 pounds. Now she’s a solid 50 pounds, and a sweet, wonderful dog.

Sienna

She is my buddy, and is a big “Mama Baby”. If I am in the bathroom, she lays outside the door and waits for me. If I am going down the stairs, she waits at the top of the stairs until I get there, and will not proceed without me. She loves to cuddle with me on the bed. If I am sitting on the sofa with the recliner part up, she will sleep under the recliner.

Part of what makes her so awesome is how she is with kids. She will tolerate anything a child can dish out, without so much as a bark. When she was little, I wrestled with her a lot.

She’s a tough dog, but she’s also very gentle. Several years back, before Sammy ever arrived on the scene, my Aunt & Uncle moved back to Wisconsin from California with their three kids in tow. My husband flew out to help them drive their caravan back. After several long days on the road, they pulled into our driveway about 2 AM. The family of 5, my DH, a cousin who had also helped with the driving, and my parents were all there. The youngest of the kids was about 18 months at the time. To her little eyes, Sienna looked like a horse, so at 2 AM, she climbed on Sienna’s back, and sat on her like she was a horse. My sweet gentle dog let her!

She is very protective of my kids. When Mackenzie was here, if she so much as fussed, wimpered or cried, Sienna was right by her side until I picked Mackenzie up. She is a Mom at heart. She knew was this little baby needed. She would run with the boys, and they’d wrestle with her.

If someone tries to enter my house that I have not allowed in, she will let us know, even if it is a person who has been here many times before. One time I was on the phone, and did not hear a friend knock. We’ve known each other since conception, so Mel just walked into my house. Sienna would not allow her in. She stood at the door and growled at her, until I gave permission. She stood next to Sammy and protected him, even though Mel has been here hundreds of times.

She was meant to be a Wisconsin dog. She LOVES the snow! She is happy if she can lay on a bed of snow, and just relax.

We have two other dogs. Jasper, a Siberian Husky who came from the pound, and Bullitt, a rat terrier that came from a breeder. Jasper is Sammy’s dog, but Hannah is loving all over him while Sammy is gone, and Bullitt is DH’s dog, but will go to anyone who will pet him.

I’ll stick with Sienna.
