What do these three things have in common? Actually, quite a bit.

The first thing may come as a surprise, but all three things were covered quite extensively on the daytime talk show, “The View”. In November, they devoted an entire hour to Foster Care, and even talked about foster care adoption. In January they also devoted the entire hour to Autism, and had Toni Braxton as a guest co-host. She has a child with Autism. You can find information about Austism on the show’s website.
Whether you agree with Rosie’s views or beliefs, she has done a great deal to help promote foster care and adoption. She has also started a foundation for kids. She is very open about her own battle with depression, and making it “acceptable” to talk about it.
Earlier this week “The View” had a segment devoted to celiac disease. One of the co-hosts, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, has Celiac disease, and talked about her personal issues with the disease.
Aside from being featured on a day time talk show, our kids can benefit from the treatment for Celiac disease.
Julie has blogged about her success with “alternative” treatments with LuLu. I admit, I was skeptical when she first told me about it. However, after seeing the change in LuLu, we jumped in with both feet.
We met with a DAN! (Defeat Autism Now) doctor, even though Sammy does not have Autism. The protocol that the DAN! Doctors are using with Autistic kids, is working with kids from foster care and international adoption.
The DAN! Doctor ran several tests, and they showed what we expected. A high concentration of yeast, along with several other things that were out of balance in his body. We began a gluten free (all wheat based products) and casein free (all dairy based products) diet, and a rigorous round of supplements to put the other things back in balance.
To be continued…..
