And we’re off

Hannah and I are heading out for the weekend. We will be camping with friends in the evening. During the day I will be attending meetings and seminars for the Wisconsin conference of our religion. Hannah will be in child care during the day going to a program that I trust completely. The man running it is the director of the camp that Sammy has gone to for six years.

The director is wonderful. He has dealt with some of Sammy’s issues and knows my background and the kind of kids I deal with. He’s well equipped to deal with anything Hannah can dish out, but I’m suspecting she’ll be well behaved. She likes to charm people.

The evenings will be interesting. Hannah likes to sleep with me and we will be on the air mattress together. The interesting part will be to see how she handles all the sounds during the night when we’re not in a locked building. We camp in a tent so she will hear plenty. I don’t know how well she’ll sleep but after all the activities she’ll be doing during the day she should be tired.

My friends know her well and will quickly step in to help if I need it. Larry is heading off to Las Vegas for a conference, so I’m on my own.

I’ll probably have to miss the end of our closing worship service on Sunday so I can race back here for my god daughter’s graduation in the afternoon. After that I will be heading down to Illinois to meet a friend from the Adoption.com list and have dinner with her a few other friends.

All this means that I will be “dripping” some posts to you. Stay tuned, they’re going to be good ones. I am also taking some reading material along for future blogs. So even though I’m gone, you’ll still be with me.
