We are going to the Milwaukee Admirals game on Sunday night. We were going to go on Friday night, but a wonderful March snow storm made the roads unsafe to travel.

Friday night’s game was for a wonderful cause. $2 of each ticket price was going to Adoption Resources of Wisconsin. I have worked with ARW for several years. They have referred families to me to help find services, hook them up with a support system, or even find respite care. This is an organization... more

You could spend months doing research on adoption, and never even come close to finding all the information. Below are some additional good sources for information.

A great source of information has changed names. The National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information is now Child Welfare Information Gateway. There are, literally, thousands of articles on this site. It does have great search feature to allow you to easily find what you are looking for.

To find your state chapter of the ... more

I have been watching many hours of NASCAR coverage this weekend, or rather I have been exposed to it, since there have been rain delays and my husband is anxiously awaiting the start of the race.

However, I did learn something interesting and helpful to our kids during all this coverage.

The Kyle Busch Foundation focuses on helping kids live in a safe environment.

To that end, they are working with NASCAR and sponsoring six fundraising walks at race tracks across the country this year. All the... more

Ladies, here is something I think we can all get excited about and would be happy to attend. I know I could find child care for this!

In Catoosa County, Georgia, single women went to a fundraiser where they bid on a date with a bachelor. The money raised went to the Catoosa Foster and Adoptive Parent Association.

Now I know what you’re thinking – you’re married. Yes, I am but I’m not thinking of a date. I’m thinking of... more

I love to read and my kids have developed that passion as well. You will often find both of them with books in their hands. Reading with your kids is always a good thing, especially if this is not something that your child is used to. The books listed below can give some great messages to your kids, along with having that special one on one time that kids love to have with their parents.

It’s that nasty time of the year again; Tax time. If you haven’t already filed your taxes, you will be filing them soon. Hannah’s Godmother is our tax preparer so I just hand her all my paperwork and wait for my refund to come into my checking account.

With foster care adoption, there are not a lot of expenses involved. Some people choose to have an attorney help them with the process. These are tax deductible expenses.

As an incentive for foster care adoption there is an adoption tax credit available.

To claim the credit you, or your tax preparer,... more
